Reminder / Call to action
Today a good friend of mine pointed something out, which I had mentioned in a previous entry, about the name of this grant. Delaying the Real World implies that this, volunteer work or responsible travel operation, is not "Real". As I have said before, I don't think it gets more real than this and I would encourage more people to get involved in REAL work, where they can see and feel and learn.
I know that many of the applicants for this grant are applying for actual "Delaying" top ideas - a road trip, an adventure, a "break from work." I want to ask those of you reading this who are considering applying to not view this as a way to DELAY the real world, but a chance to be a part of it, to make the world more real for yourself and for those who can learn from your experiences, and to make your time spent on this grant as valuable as possible.
I look forward to reading about the next recipient, maybe it will be you?! Here's to the "Real" real world and those working in it.
